Janitor I SLC

JOB SUMMARY:

The Janitor I is responsible for performing basic cleaning duties throughout the factory to ensure a clean and safe work environment. This position requires minimal experience and provides training for cleaning tasks and maintaining the cleanliness of factory areas.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Cleans factory floors by sweeping mopping and vacuuming to ensure a clean and safe work area.

Empties trash and recycling containers throughout the factory.

Cleans production equipment and surrounding areas ensuring clear pedestrian traffic paths.

Maintains cleanliness of restrooms and common areas in the factory.

Assists with the cleaning of production areas including removing production waste and debris.

Sweeps and clears walkways and production zones to prevent any obstructions.

Notifies supervisor when cleaning supplies are running low.

Assists with snow removal in factory entrances and walkways during winter months.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred

0 years of janitorial or related cleaning experience

Ability to follow simple written and verbal instructions

Self-motivated and willing to learn new tasks

Basic math skills for inventory tracking and simple measurements

Ability to work in a factory environment with exposure to dust noise and cleaning chemicals

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Ability to work in a factory environment with exposure to dust noise and cleaning chemicals

Ability to operate various cleaning equipment and power tools

Ability to frequently lift and/or carry objects weighing up to and including 75 pounds

Ability to frequently push and/or pull objects weighing up to and including 75 pounds

Ability to crawl bend kneel climb and/or squat

Ability to withstand exposure to extreme climate variations; exposure to heat and cold

Ability to frequently stand/walk
