Hourly rate for Peer Support Specialist with Certification by DMHA as a Certified Peer $17.50/hour

Hourly rate for Peer Support Specialist with NO Certification $16/hour

Key Responsibilities

  • Support individuals with substance use disorders as they prepare for recovery and community reentry.
  • Engage individuals early during booking and intake to identify recovery support needs.
  • Provide one-on-one coaching and advocacy within the Vanderburgh County Jail using a person-centered trauma-informed approach
  • Connect participants with treatment recovery and community resources.
  • Assist with reentry planning to promote successful transitions back into the community.


Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Certification preferred; eligibility required.
  • To be considered certified must have either:
  • Valid drivers license and required insurance
  • All candidates must undergo required background checks and a drug screen. Findings are evaluated in accordance with applicable laws VCS policy and organizational policy and do not automatically disqualify applicants.
