Ivh-A Licensed Practical Nurse II (2Nd Shift) (Ump)

This position performs experienced practical nursing duties for residents with physical illnesses disabilities or age-related healthcare needs. • Under general supervision of the Assistant Director of Nursing independently performs a variety of skilled practical nursing functions for physically ill disabled or geriatric residents in an assigned nursing unit and shift.
• Observes records and reports to physicians registered nurses or the supervisory nurse the symptoms reactions and changes in residents conditions.
• Provides for the emotional physical comfort and security of residents.
• Assists in maintaining working and living areas and supplies in good order.
• Assists in providing guidance to nursing assistants relative to nursing techniques.
• Performs selected nursing functions in situations which do not require the specialized knowledge and skill of a registered nurse.
• Performs other duties as assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

• Requires Illinois license as a practical nurse.
• Requires one (1) year of practical nursing experience.

This class is included as an Upward Mobility Program credential title.

• Requires ability pass a background check.
• Requires ability meet all agency vaccine/health-related policies and guidance.
• Requires ability pass a drug screen and pre-employment physical.
• Requires ability acquire and maintain Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate.
• Requires the ability to utilize office equipment including personal computers.
• Requires ability attend seminars conferences and trainings to stay current on methods tools ideologies or other industry related topics relevant to the job duties.
• Requires ability to travel in the performance of job duties with overnight stays as appropriate.
• This position is considered heavy work as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor (20 CFR 404.1567(d)).Heavy work involves lifting no more than 100 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Overtime is a condition or employment and you may be required to work overtime including scheduled unscheduled or last-minute overtime.
