As an IT Training & Optimization Analyst youll be a trusted partner to clinical and IT teamsdesigning and delivering effective training improving workflows and helping end users confidently adopt system enhancements. This is an exciting opportunity to influence how technology is used in collaboration with The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC).
Responsibilities
Purpose:Under the direction of the Sr. Director of IT (or his/her delegate) and in collaboration with The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC) will provide consultation in the planning design development and delivery of training for EPIC or other electronic medical record and systems; identify mechanisms to optimize system utilization and processes; assists in the review of workflows and processes; and provide training to staff and physicians.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assesses clinical training needs of the organizationdepartmentand end user.Assistsin the analysis and evaluation of existing or proposed clinical systemsworkflowsand processes; works collaboratively to define future state for clinical workflows.
- Delivers training to various audiences (new hires refresher training skillenhancementand system update training). Responsible for managing moderately complex clinical applications training issues and problems; provides technical support in response to user issues and questionspertaining totraining functionality operations input/outputreportingand general operating procedures.
- Implements training/communications; coordinates systemchangecommunications; keeps end users up to date on system changes or updates throughout a project or upgrade.
- Assistsin the development of change management strategies and training needs.
- Provides and recommends creative solutions to processes and procedures for enhancements additions or modifications to improve clinical systems. Advises the build teams on any such system enhancements or modifications.
- Participates in a variety of training and optimization projects.
- Develops andmaintainsnetworks of super users within specialty areas;utilizesthese groups toassureend user familiarity with system changes and enhancements.
- Serves as a liaison between training and IT to coordinate needs assessments impact analyses resourceutilization systemrequirementsand integration methodologies.
- Other duties or specialprojects asassigned.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Associates degree in a clinical field information systems or related field or equivalent education and experience.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience with an electronic medical record or system.
- If not already certified the IT Training & Optimization Analystmust obtain an Epic build certification within 6 months of the date of hirein order togain the necessary access to OSUWMC Epic training and development environments.
Preferences:
- Bachelor of Science in a clinical field information systems or related field or equivalent education and experience.
- CurrentEpic build certification.
KnowledgeSkillsand Abilities:
Possessstrong communicationskills to respond to common and complex inquiries. Ability todemonstrateinitiative and completion of projects self-motivationand ability to work independently while being a team player. Extensive knowledge of adult learning principles anddemonstratedexperience using these principles when building training plans and materials. Critical thinkingtobe able to work at the highest technical level of most phases of application education while being able to consider current and future state implications.
