Job Summary
SummaryBalfour Beatty is seeking an IT Solutions Architect Director to join our team in Dallas TX. This individual will oversee data integrations and business intelligence and be responsible for leading the strategy architecture delivery and support of the organizations enterprise data integration reporting and analytics a lean-team environment this roIe serves as both a strategic leader and a hands-on technical contributor providing direction across the function while also remaining actively involved in solution design development oversight troubleshooting optimization and platform role is ideal for a player-coach who is comfortable operating across leadership architecture and execution. The Director will establish priorities guide standards partner with business and IT stakeholders and develop team capability while also contributing directly to high-impact initiatives technical problem solving and critical production support. The role will help shape the future-state analytics platform including the organizations planned transition toward Microsoft Fabric while ensuring the reliability and effectiveness of the current hybrid FunctionsLead the strategy architecture delivery and operational support of enterprise data integration data warehousing reporting and analytics and maintain the roadmap for integrations data pipelines data warehousing reporting and analytics platforms balancing immediate business needs with long-term modernization as the senior technical leader for the organizations data and integration ecosystem providing hands-on involvement in architecture design reviews solution development troubleshooting and issue resolution as oversee and when appropriate directly support the development of integrations and automated workflows using platforms such as Workato AWS Lambda AWS Step Functions AWS Glue SQL Server SSIS Amazon Redshift and Power the design and optimization of ETL/ELT pipelines data transformations orchestration processes and reporting environments to ensure scalability maintainability and with business leaders functional teams and IT stakeholders to gather requirements prioritize work and deliver practical scalable data and analytics and enforce standards for data architecture integration design data quality governance security documentation and operational the design and delivery of dashboards reports semantic models and self-service analytics capabilities that support operational and strategic opportunities to improve interoperability reduce manual effort strengthen controls and increase trust in enterprise modernization efforts across the data and analytics ecosystem including evaluation planning and migration readiness for Microsoft leadership for production support of integrations data pipelines and BI/reporting solutions including incident response escalation management root cause analysis and continuous coach and develop team members while fostering a collaborative accountable and solution-oriented external vendors consultants and implementation partners as resource planning prioritization and execution across a small team with a focus on delivering high-value outcomes ConditionsThe majority of work is completed in a hybrid office setting with intermittent sitting standing and walking. Periodic travel Experience and KnowledgeBachelors degree in Information Technology Computer Science Information Systems Data Analytics or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience may be of 8 years of progressive experience in data integration data engineering business intelligence reporting analytics or related technical of 3 years of experience leading technical teams enterprise data initiatives or major cross-functional technology experience operating in a hands-on leadership capacity within a lean team or similarly resource-constrained experience designing developing supporting and modernizing enterprise data and integration Technical SkillsStrong hands-on experience with several of the following technologies and the ability to lead across the broader environment:WorkatoAWS LambdaAWS Step FunctionsAWS GlueAmazon RedshiftMicrosoft SQL ServerSSISPower BIAdvanced SQL skills and experience with relational database design development and performance building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines workflow orchestration API integrations and automated data developing data models dashboards reports and analytics solutions for business users and leadership understanding of enterprise data architecture integration patterns hybrid/cloud-based data platforms and operational support to move between strategic planning and direct technical contribution depending on team capacity and business QualificationsExperience with Microsoft Fabric and analytics platform migration working in hybrid environments that include both legacy Microsoft-based platforms and modern cloud with CI/CD DevOps source control release management and deployment practices for data and integration with data governance data quality metadata and security best supporting executive dashboards KPI reporting and self-service BI Skills and AbilitiesStrong leadership and team development to balance strategic direction with hands-on technical architectural thinking and practical problem-solving analytical troubleshooting and decision-making communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced lean-team commitment to operational excellence data integrity reliability and continuous ResponsibilitiesThis position will directly supervise technical staff contractors and consultants and is responsible for assigning work setting priorities mentoring team members supporting professional development and contributing to performance management This Role MattersThis role is critical to ensuring the organization has reliable integrations trusted data and meaningful insights to support day-to-day operations and long-term a lean-team environment the IT Solutions Architect Director plays a central role in both leading the function and helping deliver the work providing the technical judgment organizational leadership and hands-on support needed to strengthen and modernize the companys data and analytics capabilities.
