Principal Duties

Knowledge and Skills Required

• PhD in Public Health Epidemiology Biostatistics Biomedical Informatics or a related field.
• 1 years of experience with secondary data research (e.g. clinical administrative registry or EHR data) and clinical research study design/data analysis.
• Experience in an academic medical center health system or clinical research environment preferred.
• Peer-reviewed scientific publication and grant proposal writing track record required.
• Project management experience including planning reporting stakeholder engagement and development of standard operating procedures.
• Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Columbus OH region.

• Designs experiments develops protocols and conducts independent research. Develops project aims objectives and experimental techniques.
• Supervises and mentors junior research staff and students. Trains and supervises technical support staff in performing specific techniques essential to carrying out the research program.
• Records and analyzes data generated by the research study. Develops hypotheses for further investigation from the results of the studies performed.
• Independently prepares scientific and technical papers for publication in peer-reviewed journals. Presents findings at local and national research forums. Writes first drafts of grant proposals and manuscripts. May be CO-PI on grant applications.
• Collaborates with other ongoing research efforts either at NCH or at The Ohio State University.
• Prepares to submit proposals to and obtain funding from external granting agencies.

• Skills in qualitative and quantitative research methods.
• Ability to proactively manage and drive projects.

Three years of relevant research experience after PhD program required.
