IT Network Engineer

Nature and Scope

The IT Network Engineer is responsible for contributing to the design implementation maintenance monitoring and support of ARIs enterprise network infrastructure and related communication technologies. This role helps ensure the availability performance reliability scalability and security of Local Area Networks (LAN) Wide Area Networks (WAN) wireless networks cloud connectivity and communication systems across all company locations.

The position supports and helps manage mission-critical network technologies including data network infrastructure enterprise network design and architecture next-generation firewalls (Palo Alto and Cisco) Cisco Nexus backbone switches Cisco ASR and ISR edge routers VPN and MFA solutions MPLS data circuits voice and data communications wireless infrastructure virtualization platforms and enterprise phone systems.

The IT Network Engineer works collaboratively with Cybersecurity Infrastructure Applications and business teams to deliver secure resilient and reliable network services that support business operations regulatory and compliance requirements and organizational growth.

This is a hybrid position based in Shirley NY offering the flexibility to work both remotely and onsite.

Network Infrastructure Management

oSupport Data Networks to all facilities (NY OH CA and Altkirch).

oResponsible for assisting with the design & architecture of the enterprise data network.

oAssist in implementing maintaining and optimizing the enterprise network infrastructure.

oConfigure and administer Nexus/Catalyst switching core (Trunking/VPC/LACP).

oConfigure and administer WAN connectivity with ELINE/MPLS utilizing IPSEC mesh and dynamic routing.

oConfigure and administer Cisco Voice (CUCM/CUC/CUCX) add moves changes upgrades integrations.

oConfigure administer and monitor Corporate Firewalls (ASA Palo Alto).

oConfigure and support routers switches firewalls wireless controllers VPN solutions and load balancers.

oMonitor network performance and capacity to ensure optimal operation and availability.

oSupport network expansion projects and infrastructure modernization initiatives.

oMaintain inventory of network infrastructure equipment.

oMaintain network diagrams standards procedures and technical documentation.

Network Security

oAssist in Implementing and maintaining secure network architectures and connectivity solutions.

oConfigure and manage network security controls including firewalls VLANs NAC IDS/IPS and remote access technologies.

oCollaborate with cybersecurity teams to remediate vulnerabilities and support security initiatives.

oAssist with incident response investigations and security event analysis.

oEnsure compliance with applicable corporate security policies and industry regulations.

Operations and Support

oAssist with the installation configuration and maintenance of the organizations LAN - Network Security Hardware/Software.

oConfigure and administer Enterprise Wireless (SSIDs VLAN tagging Security policies).

oApply fixes / patches to Network Hardware / Software on an as needed basis.

oSupport the management of all Enterprise Communications - VPN MPLS Data Circuits and all voice & data Communications.

oSupport and administer the corporate telephony infrastructure including but not limited to the Cisco Phone Switch and telephony devices.

oSupport and administer VPN Wireless and Virtualization.

oProvide technical support for network-related incidents and service requests.

oTroubleshoot complex network performance connectivity and hardware issues.

oPerform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.

oParticipate in on-call support and escalation activities as required.

oManage network equipment lifecycle activities including upgrades patching and hardware replacements.

Cloud and Data Center Connectivity

oSupport network connectivity for cloud platforms including but not limited to Microsoft Azure Microsoft 365 and Amazon Web Services.

oMaintain site-to-site VPNs SD-WAN and hybrid cloud networking environments.

oSupport data center networking technologies and disaster recovery connectivity requirements.

Project Management and Continuous Improvement

oParticipate in infrastructure projects from planning through implementation.

oEvaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to enhance performance reliability and security.

oCollaborate with vendors consultants and service providers to support project delivery.

oDevelop automation and standardization initiatives to improve operational efficiency.

Compliance and Documentation

oAdhere to all IT policies procedures and regulatory requirements.

oSupport audit activities including JSOX GxP NIST and cybersecurity assessments as applicable.

oMaintain accurate documentation of network configurations procedures and recovery processes.

Collaborate with other I.T. Staff members with regard to security related projects.

Perform any other tasks/duties as assigned by management.

Education Requirements and Qualifications

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required.

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field or 5 years of equivalent work experience.

Minimum 3 years experience in networking engineering network administration or a related IT infrastructure role required.

Demonstrates mastery level of Cisco and Palo Alto networking equipment. Cisco Certifications Required (Examples CCIE CCNP CCSP CCVP). Other Certifications (such as CISSP and PCNSA) are recommended.

Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting LAN/WAN TCP/IP DNS DHCP VPNs VLANs routing and switching.

Experience with network equipment such as Cisco Aruba Fortinet or equivalent.

Experience monitoring network performance diagnosing connectivity issues and resolving network outages.

Familiarity with firewalls wireless networks network security and network monitoring tools.

Experience documenting network configurations procedures and troubleshooting activities.

Strong understanding of network security principles and IT infrastructure best practices.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills required to effectively interact with internal and external customers.

Excellent communication and technical skills are necessary to implement manage and support all current and future network infrastructures.

While the position is for the Shirley NY facility some travel to other sites (New Albany OH and Brea CA) is required.

Expected Salary Range:

$105000 - $120000

The salary range displayed is the minimum and maximum annual salary range of compensation for the role that the employer in good faith believes to be accurate at the time of the posting of an advertisement for the role.
