The Digital Innovation Division (DID) is accountable for generating and executing integrated strategies providing governance and managing internal investments that form the foundation of Aerospaces digitalinnovation andtransformation.The DID Mission IT pillar supportsengineering teamsacross Aerospaceby delivering top-tier IT engineering and support services tailored to meet the unique needs of our engineering community.

Mission IT Operationsfocusesonprovidingthe engineeringenterprise withanIT infrastructureenabling engineers to concentrate on their corecompetencywithout distractionfrom the infrastructure.Mission IT Operations is looking for anIT Infrastructure Systems Architect(Engineering Specialist).As engineers ourselvesMission IT Operationsclosely identifieswith our engineeringcolleaguesandimplementstechnicallyviableITservices andsolutions that integrate seamlesslyacross multiplespaceengineering disciplinesandcustomersatellite launchoperations.

The role of IT Infrastructure Systems Architectis responsible fordevising definingdevelopingintegratingand documenting complexITsystem architecturesdesigned tosupport theengineeringIT(akamissionIT)infrastructure. This technical role combines system administrationexpertisewithinnovation andarchitectural designskillstoprovideproduction-levelinfrastructure servicesin support of satellite launch weathermodelingand simulation.This position requires hands on troubleshooting across Windows and/or Linux environments applying problem-solving skills to resolve issues in complex and evolving technical environments.Thepositionmaintainscyber protectionacross themissionITinfrastructurewhileidentifyingpotential solutions tocritical technologychallenges.

WhatYoullBe Doing

  • Interfacing withEngineering Technology Group (ETG) departmentsand program officesinterpretingneedsinto service-oriented requirements

  • Translatinginternal and externalcustomerneeds intoservice offeringsand architecturaldesign patterns

  • Testing system patches against unique hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) configurations resolving problems and coordinatinginstallations

  • IntegratingIT (SW and HW) services acrossmission enterprise

  • Implementing mission-focusedservices

  • Maintaining operations of platform services and software services in support of unique engineering system environments (i.e. HIL raspberry pi etc.)Providing Tier 3 administration on uniqueengineeringsystem configurations(i.e. HIL raspberry pi etc.)

  • Representinginternal (ETG and program office)customersas a liaison withservice providers

What You Need to be Successful

MinimumRequirementsforIT InfrastructureSystems Architect.

  • Bachelorsdegreeintechnology-relateddiscipline(i.e. Computer Science Information Technology Management Information Systems Cyber Security Software Engineering etc.)

  • Eight(8)years of experience inITSystems Administration ITInfrastructureand/orIT Systems Architecture

  • Demonstratedexpertisein Windows and/orLinux

  • Stronganalyticalproblem solving and advanced trouble shooting skillsacrossanenterpriseITenvironment.

  • Proven abilitydesigning and integratingpatch managementstrategies with compliance requirements

  • Experience integrating securityprinciplesintoITarchitecture(i.e.Zero-Trust Architecture firewallsnetworksegmentationcompliance testingetc.)

  • This position requiresability to obtain aDoD Secretsecurity clearancewhich is issued by the U.S.government. U.S.citizenship isto obtain a security clearance.The position has the potential of TS/SCI submission and polygraph.

How You Can Stand Out

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:

  • MastersorPhD degree inIT-related discipline (i.e. Computer ScienceInformation TechnologyCybersecurity Data AnalyticsTechnology Management etc.)

  • Experience with virtualization (i.e. VMWare Hyper-V Xen KVM etc.)

  • Knowledge of cloud native technologies (CNCF Kubernetes RedHat OpenShift SUSE Rancher etc.)

  • Knowledgecertification in one or morecommercial cloud technologies (i.e. AWS AzureGCP etc.)

  • Experience configuring a software-defined network (SDN) or software-defined access (SDA)

  • Cybersecurity certifications (i.e.CompTIA A Ciscos CCNA

  • Experience with workflow automation andunderstanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC)conceptsand security checks

  • Understanding of ITILframework

The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education experience knowledge and skills.
