- Position Duties/Responsibilities
The IT Client Support Specialist is crucial in maintaining the technological backbone of campus operations. This individual will be responsible for a wide range of activities from installation to troubleshooting ensuring faculty staff and students have the necessary tools for success.
Additionally the IT Client Support Specialist will:
- Maintain software and hardware systems associated with campus services
- Perform IT best practices and procedures while satisfying end user requests
- Diagnose and perform basic troubleshooting/repair of systems
- Perform basic maintenance tasks
- Schedule and perform regular check-ups to verify correct performance
- Dialogue with vendors as necessary to ensure proper maintenance
- Coordinate shipping and receiving of units needing repair
- Coordinate warranty repairs
- Required/Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Associates degree from a regionally accredited institution or 5 years of related experience
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with competing priorities and deadlines
- Strong technological skills
- Attentive to detail with strong organizational skills
- Ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner
- Service-oriented motivated able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with a diverse population
- Ability to learn new technology and software as they are introduced into the work environment
- Ability to research and solve problems independently
- Ability to perform physical tasks and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Bachelors degree in information systems or related field
- Experience working in higher education
- Experience with audio/visual instructional equipment (Extron projectors microphones etc.)
