IT Business Systems Analyst-Level 4 Lead (15+ Years)

Position Summary

The Senior Data Quality Analyst / Databricks Implementation Specialist is responsible for leading data quality and governance initiatives across business domains. This role ensures enterprise data is trusted well-governed and aligned with business and technical standards within the Databricks Lakehouse platform.

The position works closely with business stakeholders data stewards engineers and governance teams to establish data ownership improve data quality maintain metadata and lineage and support governance adoption.

Key Responsibilities

Domain Governance Leadership

• Lead implementation of domain-level data governance practices.
• Define data ownership structures and stewardship responsibilities.
• Identify data products domain boundaries and business ownership.
• Facilitate governance workshops with business stakeholders.
• Serve as governance lead for assigned domains.

Steward Enablement & Governance Adoption

• Support onboarding and training of data stewards.
• Guide stewards on governance processes and standards.
• Ensure proper maintenance of:
  • Metadata
  • Data catalogs
  • Lineage
  • Data quality rules
• Promote governance adoption across business teams.

Databricks Governance Implementation

• Ensure data is properly organized within Unity Catalog.
• Validate data lineage across:
  • Bronze Layer
  • Silver Layer
  • Gold Layer
• Ensure data quality rules are implemented within Databricks pipelines.
• Support troubleshooting and technical governance activities.

Metadata Lineage & Data Quality

• Maintain metadata completeness and steward approvals.
• Define and manage data quality rules for critical data elements.
• Monitor data quality metrics and reporting.
• Validate end-to-end lineage and data traceability.
• Partner with engineering teams to resolve data quality issues.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work with:

• Support governance consistency across projects.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to Data Quality Specialists.
• Align governance deliverables with business priorities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in:
  • Computer Science
  • Information Systems
  • Business Administration
  • Related field
• 5 years of experience in:
  • Data Quality
  • Data Governance
  • Data Analysis
• Strong experience with:
  • Databricks
  • Delta Lake
  • Unity Catalog
• Strong SQL skills.
• Knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Strong communication facilitation and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience implementing domain-level governance models.
• Knowledge of Medallion Architecture.
