Job Description: IT Asset Management Specialist Location- Remote Position Overview

The IT Asset Management Specialist is responsible for managing the lifecycle of the organizations IT assets including hardware software licenses and related technology resources. This role ensures accurate asset tracking compliance with licensing requirements cost optimization and adherence to IT asset management policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate inventory records for IT hardware software and technology assets.
  • Track IT assets throughout their lifecycle including procurement deployment maintenance transfer and disposal.
  • Manage software license inventories and support software compliance activities.
  • Conduct regular asset audits and inventory reconciliations.
  • Coordinate asset procurement receiving tagging and asset assignment processes.
  • Monitor asset utilization and recommend opportunities for optimization and cost savings.
  • Ensure proper disposal and retirement of IT assets in accordance with company policies and security standards.
  • Generate asset management reports metrics and documentation.
  • Support hardware refresh programs and technology lifecycle planning.
  • Collaborate with procurement finance security and IT support teams regarding asset-related activities.
  • Maintain asset management policies procedures and process documentation.
  • Assist with vendor management and software licensing reviews.
Required Qualifications
  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Information Technology Business Administration Supply Chain Management or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working with asset management systems and inventory tracking tools.
  • Understanding of hardware lifecycle management and software licensing concepts.
  • Strong organizational analytical and record-keeping skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications particularly Excel.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with IT Asset Management (ITAM) and Configuration Management Database (CMDB) tools.
  • Knowledge of software asset management (SAM) practices and licensing models.
  • Familiarity with ITIL framework and IT service management processes.
  • Experience supporting audits and compliance initiatives.
  • Relevant certifications such as:
    • Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM)
    • IAITAM certifications
    • ITIL Foundation
