Job Title: Iron Worker Apprentice

We are seeking an entry level Iron Worker Apprentice or those interested in learning the trade to becomean integral part of our team for ourStructural Steel division.
Job Type:Full-time; Hourly
Qualifications:
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Completion of Pre-Employment Background Check Drug Screen and Physical Strength Assessment and Safety Training for Construction Trade
  • Minimal travel required within Michigan
  • Reliable transportation to and from work
  • Punctual
  • Self-Starter/Motivator
Education and/or Experience:
  • High School Degree or Equivalent
  • Previous trades training is a plus but not required
  • Basic math skills
  • Able to read tape measure
Physical Demands:
  • Prolonged standing climbing bending and kneeling
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Use of sharp tools and power equipment in working conditions
  • Subject to variable weather conditions inside and outside of building
  • Working on uneven job terrain/job sites
  • Manual dexterity
  • Good hand-eye coordination
  • Good sense of balance
Work Environment:
  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration
  • The employee is exposed to a variety of weather conditions (warm weather and wintery conditions)
  • Must use safety equipment (PPE) where warranted. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud
  • Ability to work around heavy equipment/machinery
