Job Duties and Responsibilities: The role will focus on market research for commercialization of inventions and patents from NMSU faculty researchers and targeted marketing/promotion of NMSU intellectual property (IP). The role involves performing commercialization market research as well as establishing and managing a program for student interns who conduct specialized commercialization-focused market research. Additionally the commercialization marketing manager will develop and execute targeted campaigns for promotion and marketing of specific technologies. This manager will also serve as a liaison to foster faculty invention mentorship while supporting other relevant IP commercialization activities.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:
Associates Degree 8 years of relevant experience or a Bachelors degree
6 years of relevant experience. Masters degree or higher preferred.

Equivalent Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer and Commercialization principles and agreements including Non-Disclosure Agreements Memorandum of Understanding Invention Disclosures Patents Technology Valuation and Licenses.
Experience in marketing including marketing research for advanced technology commercialization.
Experience in regional and national innovation ecosystems and resources that support technology commercialization initiatives.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with innovation ecosystem stakeholders including industry partners entrepreneurs investors economic development organizations technology accelerators business incubators and venture studios.
Experience working with faculty and laboratory researchers and inventors entrepreneurs start-up leaders and innovation driven organizations to advance commercialization initiatives.
Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and collaborations across research intellectual property business development and marketing and economic development organizations.
