Inventory Performance Specialist
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly analytical technology-driven Inventory Performance Specialistto take ownership of dealership inventory performance while providing strategic oversight of opportunity management within the CRM.
The primary focus of this role is to ensure the dealership acquires stocks prices and merchandises the right inventory to maximize profitability and market share. This individual will leverage tools such as vAuto dealership reporting systems website analytics and third-party marketplace data to make informed inventory decisions.
Additionally this role will provide CRM opportunity oversight by identifying missed sales opportunities monitoring lead management performance and helping managers improve customer follow-up processes.
The successful candidate will work closely with dealership leadership sales managers used vehicle operations service personnel and marketing partners to drive inventory turn vehicle acquisition merchandising quality and overall dealership performance.
- Manage inventory strategy utilizing vAuto inventory management platforms and dealership reporting tools.
- Develop acquisition and stocking plans based on market demand sales trends seasonality and dealership objectives.
- Analyze vehicle turn rates age pricing position gross profit performance and market competitiveness.
- Monitor daily inventory health and provide recommendations on aging inventory.
- Identify and pursue vehicle acquisition opportunities through trades service lane opportunities direct purchases auctions and customer outreach.
- Assist in developing inventory sourcing strategies to improve inventory quality and reduce acquisition costs.
- Evaluate market pricing and recommend adjustments to maintain competitiveness while protecting profitability.
- Monitor inventory mix to ensure alignment with customer demand and dealership sales goals.
- Produce inventory performance reports and actionable recommendations for dealership leadership.
- Ensure all inventory is accurately and attractively merchandised across dealership digital properties.
- Monitor vehicle presentation on the dealership website and third-party marketplaces such as AutoTrader CarGurus AutoWeb and OEM websites.
- Audit vehicle photos descriptions equipment listings pricing and merchandising content for accuracy and consistency.
- Monitor Vehicle Detail Page (VDP) activity and shopper engagement metrics.
- Partner with marketing and sales teams to improve inventory visibility and lead generation.
- Identify opportunities to improve online conversion through enhanced merchandising practices.
- Ensure inventory is market-ready and advertised promptly after acquisition.
- Assist leadership with new vehicle ordering strategy and allocation planning.
- Monitor market demand sales forecasts allocation trends and inventory levels.
- Provide recommendations on future ordering decisions to ensure optimal inventory availability.
- Analyze model performance and inventory turn to support ordering priorities.
- Review CRM activity and opportunity management processes.
- Audit internet phone showroom service-drive and equity-mining opportunities.
- Monitor lead handling appointment activity response times and customer follow-up compliance.
- Identify lost opportunities and process breakdowns.
- Provide managers with reporting and recommendations to improve conversion rates.
- Partner with sales leadership to ensure customer opportunities are fully worked.
- Help maintain accountability for lead management processes without serving as the primary CRM manager.
