In this Inventory Control position in our Schenectady facility responsible for performing basic physical inventory control functions that relate to the daily support of the production environment. Ensures the accuracy of inventory as well as the preservation of the condition of materials in storage handling and transportation. Complete other daily housekeeping functions including 5s and parts kitting.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Maintain and organize the daily shift operations and inventory with accurate records
- Use computer applications including but not limited to Microsoft suite inventory management system and maintenance management system
- Perform indirect material receipt sort inspection count labelling and tracking
- Receive and dispense indirect materials tools supplies and parts in a timely manner
- Interface with team members in a courteous and efficient manner
- Perform material handling duties crane and fork truck operation required
- Perform and support Environmental Health and Safety audits and related activities
- Participate in process improvement cycle reduction and other activities as required to support the team and site goals
- Communicate effectively and work well with others
- Organize and maintain a clean and organized work area at all times
- Conduct sample inspections of vendor managed items
- Receive and unload incoming materials and compare information on packing slips with purchase orders to verify accuracy of shipments
- Inspect shipments for damage or defects. Records discrepancies or damages and notify supervisor
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- 1 year of relevant work experience (warehouse/inventory)
- Physical ability to lift up to 35 pounds and sit climb balance stoop kneel crouch crawl repeatedly
- Superior organizational and communication skills
- Ability to learn quickly with attention to detail.
The pay for this position is $28.01/hr. This position is also eligible for progression pay and a $1/hr Night Shift Bonus
