Job Summary

ATALCO is seeking an experienced Inventory Analyst to support inventory accuracy materials availability stocking strategy and warehouse data integrity for the Gramercy refinery. This position is responsible for analyzing inventory levels maintaining accurate item master and stocking parameters managing cycle count programs and identifying opportunities to reduce excess obsolete and slow-moving inventory without compromising operational readiness.


The Inventory Analyst serves as a critical link between Warehouse Maintenance Operations Reliability Procurement and Finance teams. The successful candidate will ensure critical spares and consumables are available when needed that inventory records reflect physical reality and that stocking decisions are supported by data and consumption history.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented analytical supply chain professional with strong ERP MRO inventory and data analysis experience within industrial manufacturing mining metals chemical or heavy industrial environments.


Key Responsibilities

Inventory Accuracy & Control

Maintain inventory record accuracy across all warehouses and satellite storeroom locations including quantities units of measure bin locations and item descriptions.

Own and administer the cycle count program including count schedules count assignments variance research and root-cause analysis of discrepancies.

Investigate and resolve inventory variances negative balances unposted issues and receipt discrepancies in coordination with Warehouse and Accounting.

Process and document inventory adjustments transfers and write-offs in accordance with company policy and internal controls.

Support annual physical inventory activities and audit requests including reconciliation and supporting documentation.

Monitor and improve data integrity within the item master including duplicate item identification standardized naming conventions and manufacturer part number accuracy.

Inventory Planning & Optimization

Analyze consumption history lead times and demand variability to establish and maintain min/max levels reorder points safety stock and economic order quantities.

Review and adjust stocking parameters for MRO materials critical spares and consumables to balance availability against working capital.

Identify excess obsolete slow-moving and duplicate inventory and recommend disposition strategies including redeployment return or write-off.

Partner with Maintenance and Reliability to determine criticality of spare parts and align stocking decisions with equipment risk and outage plans.

Support inventory value and turnover targets and provide analysis to explain period-over-period movement.

Recommend improvements to stocking strategy storeroom layout and replenishment processes based on usage data.

Data Analysis & Reporting

Develop and maintain inventory reporting including stock status turnover aging excess and obsolete exposure fill rate and cycle count accuracy.

Build and maintain analytical tools and dashboards in Excel and ERP reporting environments to support inventory decision-making.

Provide inventory analysis and recommendations to Warehouse Maintenance Procurement and Finance leadership.

Track and report key inventory performance indicators and identify trends requiring corrective action.

Support budgeting forecasting and month-end close activities with inventory data and variance explanations.

Warehouse & Operations Support

Partner with the Warehouse Manager and storeroom personnel to improve receiving issuing put-away and material handling practices that affect inventory accuracy.

Support bin location optimization labeling barcoding and storeroom organization initiatives.

Coordinate material availability for planned maintenance outages turnarounds and capital projects.

Monitor open requisitions and purchase orders for stock replenishment items and escalate shortages that place operations at risk.

Support kitting staging and reservation processes for scheduled work orders.

Procurement & Cross-Functional Support

Work closely with Procurement Operations and Strategic Sourcing to align stocking levels with supplier lead times minimum order quantities and contract terms.

Support new item setup item master changes and standardization of stocked materials.

Maintain accurate inventory and material records within ERP systems and reporting tools.

Participate in supply chain planning meetings inventory reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.

Support compliance with internal controls inventory policies and audit requirements.

Required Qualifications

Education

Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management Business Logistics Operations Finance Engineering or related field preferred.

Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.

Experience

Minimum 5 years of experience in inventory analysis materials management storeroom or warehouse operations planning or supply chain analytics.

Experience managing MRO spare parts and consumable inventories in an industrial environment.

Experience administering cycle count programs and resolving inventory variances.

Experience setting and maintaining min/max levels reorder points and safety stock.

Experience supporting manufacturing industrial mining metals chemical refining energy or other heavy industrial operations.

Knowledge & Skills

Strong understanding of inventory management principles MRO materials management and storeroom operations.

Knowledge of inventory control practices internal controls and physical inventory procedures.

Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems including inventory and materials management modules.

Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel including pivot tables lookups and large data sets; proficiency with Outlook Teams and Power BI or similar reporting tools.

Ability to interpret bills of material equipment records purchase orders and supplier lead-time data.

Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with high attention to detail and data accuracy.

Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to present analysis to operations and finance stakeholders.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced operating environment.

Strong customer service orientation and ability to develop effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting industrial maintenance turnaround or capital project material requirements.

Experience with inventory optimization criticality analysis or reliability-centered spares programs.

APICS/ASCM (CPIM CSCP) CPSM CSCMP or related supply chain certification.

Experience with barcoding mobile scanning or warehouse management systems.

Experience in aluminum metals mining manufacturing refining petrochemical or heavy industrial operations.

Accuracy and timeliness of inventory reporting.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read analyze and interpret information. Ability to write reports and basics business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups managers clients customers and the general public.

  • TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) required prior to offer acceptance; MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration) training to be completed upon hire.
