About the Cath Lab

Good Samaritans Cath Lab operates 4 procedure labs and manages 1523 adult cardiac cases per day. The department provides both inpatient and outpatient interventional cardiac services in a fast-paced high-acuity environment.

Technology & Equipment Used:

  • EPIC Charting

  • Alaris IV Pumps

  • Pyxis Medication Dispensing

  • Zoll Defibrillator

  • Philips Fluoroscopy System

  • Merge Hemodynamics

  • Datascope IABP

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years Cath Lab experience

  • Associates degree

  • Active Certifications/Licenses:

    • BLS (AHA)

    • ACLS (AHA)

    • ARRT or RTR

    • Illinois State License (IEMA)

  • Prior EPIC experience

Highly Preferred:

  • RCIS (CCI)

  • EPIC Cupid experience

Required Clinical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of aseptic technique

  • Sheath pulling

  • TR Band placement & removal

  • Line securement

  • EKG & cardiac rhythm interpretation

  • Experience with IABP and Impella devices
