Interventionist Graduate Assistant Teacher
SUMMARY:

The role of the Graduate Assistant Teacher is to serve as an instructional support professional who works collaboratively with teachers students and departments to support teaching and learning throughout the school. Graduate Assistant Teachers provide classroom support intervention assistance assessment support student supervision and substitute coverage when needed.
Graduate Assistant Teachers may be assigned to a specific academic department or student support area and work closely with teachers department chairs counselors and administrators to promote student success and support the educational mission of the school.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates Degree or Bachelors Degree (not required)
Ability to develop positive and caring relationships with students staff and families
Strong organizational and communication skills
Experience and commitment in promoting Diversity Equity and Inclusion
Demonstrated skills in Google Drive Zoom PowerSchool and other educational applications
Demonstrated ability to multitask in a time-sensitive dynamic work environment
Ability to maintain confidentiality is required
Interest in education counseling student support services or related fields preferred
REPORTS TO:
Principal and Associate Principal
Daily work assignments and instructional supervision may be provided by Department Chairs Program Coordinators Counselors the IB Coordinator or other designated staff members.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Instructional Support
- Assist teachers with classroom instruction and student learning activities.
- Support individual students and small groups during classroom instruction.
- Assist with projects labs discussions presentations exhibitions and other instructional activities.
- Provide academic support to students during intervention periods and designated support times.
- Assist teachers with planning preparation and organization of instructional materials.
Assessment and Data Support
- Assist teachers with grading objective assignments using teacher-provided answer keys and scoring guides.
- Assist with assessment preparation organization and distribution.
- Enter teacher-determined scores into PowerSchool and other approved district systems.
- Generate reports and assist teachers with academic data management.
Department and Program Support
- Support assigned academic departments and student support programs.
- Assist with departmental initiatives projects exhibitions performances and special events.
- Prepare and organize instructional materials and resources.
- Attend department meetings and collaborate with department members as requested.
Student Success Support
- Support attendance interventions and student outreach efforts.
- Assist with academic support programs makeup work sessions and intervention activities.
- Assist with testing accommodations and assessment support.
- Support counselors SST processes MTSS interventions and student success initiatives as assigned.
School Operations and Supervision
- Provide supervision in classrooms hallways cafeterias testing environments and school events.
- Participate in assigned lunch supervision rotations.
- Assist with schoolwide testing assemblies and special programs.
- Support student safety and positive school culture initiatives.
Classroom Coverage
- Provide substitute coverage when assigned.
- Support substitute teachers when needed.
- Assist in maintaining continuity of instruction during teacher absences.
- Provide coverage within assigned departments whenever possible.
Administrative Support
- Provide administrative support to the Principal Associate Principal IB Coordinator Counselors and Department Chairs as assigned.
- Manage attendance through PowerSchool and adhere to all attendance policies and procedures.
- Develop positive and professional relationships with students staff parents district leaders and community members.
Other Duties
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or Associate Principal.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Up to 40 hours per week 7:25 a.m. 3:15 p.m. daily with flexibility in hours.
PAY:
$20/hour based on experience. Compensation through EDUStaff.
SCHEDULE:
Monday Friday 7:25 a.m. 3:15 p.m. with flexibility based on building needs and assigned responsibilities.
