Job Description: Budget Title: Senior Staff Assistant (SL-3) Salary: $58000 This position reports to the Associate Director of the Office of International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) within International Education and Global Affairs (IEGA). The International Student and Scholar Advisor plays a key role in ensuring the universitys compliance with federal regulations governing international students exchange visitors and visiting scholars. The position requires the application of specialized knowledge of U.S. immigration regulations as well as university academic policies and procedures. Working in a dynamic and collaborative environment the advisor serves as an integral member of multiple teams including immigration and insurance advising front desk operations SEVIS management information technology ISSS and IEGA. The advisor will help plan coordinate and implement programs and services that support the university community while partnering with ISSS colleagues and campus stakeholders to advance the mission and strategic goals of the office. The advisor is responsible for maintaining Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) compliance and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of related university systems and records. The successful candidate will serve as a Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) as authorized by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Department of State addition the advisor acts as a liaison between ISSS and university administrative offices as well as community partners to support the needs of international students scholars and the broader campus community.
