Internal Investigations Manager Risk, Travel and Expense Reimbursement Audit

As a Risk Manager you will lead high-impact audits and investigations that influence business decisions strengthen internal controls and shape how Amazon detects and responds to fraud globally.

This is a highly visible role that combines investigative expertise analytical problem-solving and strategic risk management. You will have end-to-end ownership of the entire audit process. As a trusted advisor to stakeholders such as HR Legal business and Finance leaders you will drive audit and investigations outcomes while balancing customer trust fairness and risk.

Beyond individual audits and investigations you will identify emerging fraud trends uncover systemic control gaps and partner with cross-functional teams to improve processes strengthen fraud detection and prevent future losses. Key job responsibilities
- Lead complex fraud and abuse investigations independently analyzing evidence conducting investigative interviews and making legally defensible findings and disciplinary recommendations.
- Partner with HR Employee Relations Legal Finance and business leaders to align on investigation outcomes influence decisions and communicate findings to senior leadership.
- Investigate high-impact cases exercising sound judgment to assess fraud risk protect Amazon from legal and reputational risks and support internal and external counsel and law enforcement when appropriate.
- Identify emerging fraud trends and root causes partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to strengthen controls mitigate risk and prevent future losses.
- Serve as a subject matter expert by mentoring investigators developing SOPs and best practices and driving AI-enabled fraud detection through data-driven rule development experimentation and continuous optimization in partnership with technical teams.

A day in the life
Your day may start by reviewing an active investigation analyzing evidence or preparing for an interview but expect the this role priorities can shift quickly as new cases stakeholder questions or emerging risks come up. Every investigation is different bringing new challenges and opportunities to learn. Youll collaborate with a global team of investigators across the U.S. UK India China and the Czech Republic sharing perspectives engaging in healthy debates and supporting each other as a close-knit team. - Bachelors degree or equivalent
- 4 years of compliance program management legal governance audit risk/loss prevention or equivalent experience
- Experience establishing successful partnerships with internal and external teams to execute tactical initiatives or equivalent
- Experience handling confidential information

- 3 years of program requirements definition and data and metrics leveraging to drive improvements experience
- Professional auditing qualification or similar risk or compliance credentials
- Experience with SQL and Excel
- Experience in program requirements definition together with data and metrics leveraging to drive improvements
- 2 years of fraud identification and detection investigation and analysis for root causing and providing suitable preventive mechanisms experience

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
