Job Summary

We know that delivering services primarily through awebsite over the Internet is a new way of doing business in Financial Services Directorate isresponsible for establishing and maintaining an efficient financial systemincluding internal controls and financial procedures for the FAMLI Financial Services Directorate safeguards FAMLI funds and other assetsmanages FAMLI contributions and benefits payouts develops financial reportsprepares budgets and projections and designs and conducts internal audits aswell as responding to external financial audits. The Internal Audit Supervisorwill work under the Internal Audit Manager to build the auditing function andlead auditing work for the FAMLI Division as a part of the Financial ServicesDirectorate.
Duties of this positioninclude but are not limited to: Assists with planning coordination and supervision of internal audits for FAMLI Division. These tasks will involve assessing risk throughout the completion of assignments as well as annual planning and risk assessment. This is done in compliance with professional standards established by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS) and widely accepted auditing standards released by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
Education: A Bachelors degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university or a Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with 30 credit hours in Accounting and related courses including or supplemented by 3 credit hours in auditing.
Experience: Four years of experience performing financial and compliance audits of a State agency grantee business or other entity.
Notes:
1. Applicants who had met the requirements for admission to the CPA examination prior to July 1 1974 will be considered to have met the educational requirement.
2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a certificate as a Certified Public Accountant or Certified Internal Auditor or a Masters degree in accounting from an accredited college or universityfor one year of the required experience.
3. Applicants may substitute one year of professional accounting experience for one year of auditing experience only.
4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Internal Review classifications or Auditing specialty codes in the Financial or Auditing fields of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
One or more years of experience leading auditstaff and providing guidance and feedback.
