Serpa Packaging Solutions is seeking dynamic Engineer intern to join our Team! Engineer Internship provides Engineers the tools and experience to develop their design and conceptualization skills in the specialized and scarce 2D perspective. Engineers interning at Serpa Packaging Solutions should have a strong interest in learning mechanical design best practices that reflect cost-effective manufacturing that meet the standards of a world-class manufacturer. Our Interns also develop their skill for advanced operation of AutoCAD for designing a wide variety of projects that include custom mechanical parts and assemblies.

Requirements:

• Manages the development of new products and systems that meet company standards and process requirements by applying knowledge of engineering principles.
• Researches and analyzes data such as customer design proposal specifications and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.
• Designs modifications and component substitutions in equipment as changes become necessary to meet performance specifications and customer requirements.
• Supervises the incorporation of changes to part drawings.
• Analyze product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine mechanical designs.
• Develops cross-functional communication skills in person writing and via telephone/email.
• Perform design reviews with customers and communicate with vendors as needed.

Desired Requirements:

• Currently enrolled in Bachelors Engineering program
• Mechanical aptitude to understand packaging automation and company product desired
• Must be detail oriented and follow through until projects are completed
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word Outlook).
• Experience using a CAD program required (AutoCAD experience desired but not required)
• Ability to read analyze and understand engineering drawings
• Flexible in work functions and duties
• Strong team player skills and positive attitude are required
