The Insurance Verification Specialist CHP reviews and verifies patient demographic information guarantor and insurance information. Assigned duties include but not limited to: insurance verifications authorization notifications multi-line telephone coverage data entry in practice management system referrals/physician orders collections and financial verifications.

Education

• High School Diploma General Education Development (GED) or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required

Experience

• 1 year of experience with patient registration insurance and benefit eligibility verification required
• Epic experience
• Experience navigating payer portals (e.g. Availity Noridian and various PPO/HMO portals) to pull eligibility manually when Real-Time Eligibility (RTE) fails.
• Solid understanding of different insurance plans and IPAs
