Instrumentation Technician

Position SummaryThe Instrumentation Technicianperforms routine instrumentation troubleshooting preventative maintenance and repair duties requiring a basic knowledge of industrial electrical/electronic also be knowledgeable of instrumentation equipment related to water and wastewater treatment and production equipment which mayincludeflow meters analyzers PLCs SCADA systems ozone generators chemical equipment air compressors valve actuators motors variable frequency drives and various other equipment. Identifies instrumentation issues troubleshoots and remedies problems using independent have cross functional understanding of a variety of software used in ResponsibilitiesMaintains various water and wastewater treatment purification and production related instrumentation equipment andfacilitatesrepairs necessary to keep equipmentoperatingin an efficient with water and wastewater operations personnel to ensure critical equipment is be asked toassistother departments with various task during emergency repairs or routine all routine preventative maintenance tasks as specified in the equipment operations and maintenance routine repair and preventative maintenance tasks on other equipment as maintenance on other equipment as directed including Analyzers PLCs Level Controls VFDs Flow Meter calibrations Radios Fiber Optic Equipment and various other types of safe work practices through proper use of safety equipment and procedures including permit required confined space entry and lock out tag records of work performed on assets and provides follow-up reports within the work order management the skill toassist trouble shoot and repair process and control of NTMWD SCADA berequiredto be on a rotational ONCALL status to respond to NTMWD repairs outside of normal business hours must be able to work overtime when other duties as RequirementsEducation & Experience:Mustpossessa high school diploma or two years of experience introubleshooting and repair ofprocess control and/or measurement systemsand valid Electrical Apprentice license or obtain an Electrical Apprentice license with the State of Texas within 6 a valid Texas Drivers Skills & AbilitiesMustpossessbasic understanding of industrial instrumentation and control processes the basics of A.C. and D.C. principles and digital have the ability tocomprehend carryoutand administer written and oral of computers software and become proficient in the use of the District Computerized Maintenance Management SystemMust be able to read and understand technical manualsblue prints schematicsone-line diagramsand and Physical Working ConditionsDriving a District vehicle for business will be required.
