Air Products and Chemicals Inc. (NYSE: APD) a Fortune 500 industrial gases manufacturer has an immediate opening for a skilled Instrumentation and Electrical Technician to join its team in Kingsport TN.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe work environment and demonstrate leadership in all company and industry safety processes to prevent injuries; ensure accurate documentation of safety-related activities
  • Report all safety and environmental incidents and near misses occurring on site
  • Follow lockout/tagout procedures and actively participate in issuing safe work permits for maintenance tasks
  • Maintain repair troubleshoot and calibrate electronic and digital process control equipment including loop equipment low-voltage systems and control circuitry (e.g. pressure temperature level and flow instrumentation; pneumatic controls; analyzers; solenoids; limit and proximity switches)
  • Read and interpret blueprints P&IDs single-line electrical drawings ladder logic and wiring schematics
  • Use test and calibration equipment such as pneumatic RTD mA and thermocouple calibrators as well as digital/analog multimeters meggers and laptops for equipment communication
  • Use computerized systems to enter and retrieve data
  • Troubleshoot and repair Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) either independently or in coordination with engineers and system experts

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • A two-year Associate degree in instrumentation technology or a related technical field is preferred and/or at least three years of experience as an Instrumentation Maintenance Technician in a petrochemical or manufacturing environment
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to accurately document information
  • Strong troubleshooting and fault isolation skills
  • Familiarity with maintenance management systems and basic office software
  • This is a safety-sensitive position.
