Instructor of Plumbing Prison Programs (Grant Funded)

Thegrant-funded Instructorof Plumbing- Prison Programshelps transform lives by providing incarcerated individuals with hands-on training in residential and commercial plumbing. By teaching practical industry-relevant skills this position prepares students for entry-level employment in the plumbing industry upon release promoting successful reentry and reducing recidivism. This opportunity is well-suited for professionals who value mentorship education and the power of second chances.

      Typical Duties:

        Serves instruction in the design and installation of plumbing includingbut not limited to the following areas:

        • Introduction to Plumbing Technology
        • Plumbing Drain Waste and Venting Systems
        • Plumbing Water Supply and Distribution Systems
        • Plumbing Fixture and Appliance Installation
        • Develops an effective curriculum and tracks students progress through that curriculum.
        • Support and participate in strategic planning initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.

        Required Qualifications:

        • Bachelors degree in the discipline
          OR
        • Associates degree certificate licensure at the highest level being taught
          OR
        • Qualify under the occupational experience requirement for career technical and professional credential fieldswith three full-time years (or equivalent). Documentation of work experience mustdemonstratecurrency andrelevance to the course content and student learning outcomes with the following experience:
        • More than three full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in the specific credentialField
          AND
        • One year of which the work experience shall be within the five yearsimmediatelypreceding the date of
          application for the credential field
          OR
        • Three years of full-time (or equivalent) post-secondary teaching experience in the credential field within the
          past five years
        • Meet qualifications as outlined under institutional procedureFaculty Credentials

        Additional Eligibility Requirements:

        • National Center for Construction Education and Research Certifications: Certified Instructor and CertifiedModule Test Proctor or ability to obtain required certifications within30 daysof hire
        • Successful completion of security clearance
        • Successful completion of drug test
        • Arizona Drivers License or Equivalent

        Salary:
        $49057- $54134per year depending on experience.

        • Grant Funded (Arizona Department of Corrections Instructional Grant) contingent upon continued funding

        • Instructionassignmentdependent upon departmental and/or institutional needs.
