Instructor, Nursing (Practical or Registered) Full-Time

Under the supervision of the Nursing Program Director will teach classroom and clinical courses in the Practical Nursing program. Clinical instruction is provided in acute subacute and long-term care settings. Related duties include participating in division and department activities and other duties as assigned. May be required to teach on evenings or weekends. Required to keep current with the latest trends and technologies in discipline.

• Prepare for and deliver instruction and perform teaching-related activities.
• Manage the classroom/laboratory.
• Develop curriculum and monitor and revise as appropriate to maintain course effectiveness; assist in program evaluation.
• Manage equipment supplies and materials.
• Assess student performance and advise students on academic issues.
• Collaborate with advisory committee in program area.
• Attend departmental and institutional meetings.
• Promote the education/training program participate in efforts to recruit and retain students and participate in efforts to market MATC.
• Support student organizations and activities.
• Develop relationships with business and industry.
• Complete program evaluation and follow-up.
• Maintain certification continue professional development and stay current in field.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Occupational Experience Requirements:

Must have a minimum of two (2) years full-time equivalent (4000 hours) experience as a Registered Nurse. In addition one of the following must be met:

• At least two (2) years work experience must have occurred within the last five (5) years

OR

• Two (2) years of teaching Registered Nursing Practical Nursing or Nursing Assistant course work at the post-secondary level within the last five (5) years.
  One (1) year of teaching experience equivalent to two (2) semesters full-time or four (4) semesters part-time.

Hours:This position is full-time. Full-time faculty are assigned a minimum workload of 32 hours per week. Course load and schedule will depend on course availability. Work schedule could include in person online hybrid daytime evening and weekend teaching assignments. All work must be conducted in the state of Wisconsin.

Salary:This full-time employment faculty salary position is determined based on the individuals education and years of relevant experience and is assigned to the appropriate salary class and step in accordance with the applicable salary schedule.Compensation is pro-rated based on start date.

Interviews:As part of the interview process selected candidates are required to prepare and present an interactive theory lesson and simulated teaching demonstration lasting 10 minutes of the overall interview time which may be conducted in-person or virtually.
