Founded in 1968 to meet the post-secondary and continuing education needs of Cecil County residents Cecil College has been serving the community and shaping its future for more than 50 years. The College is governed by a Board of Trustees appointed by the governor. The Colleges fifth president Dr. Mary Way Bolt reports directly to the Board of Trustees.

Cecil College is centrally located in Marylands most northeastern county just one half mile from Interstate 95. It is easily accessible from Philadelphia and Baltimore as well as from Wilmington Delaware.

With a diverse student population Cecil College enrolls approximately 2500 credit students and 3400 non-credit students. Cecil offers associate degrees certificate programs and non-credit classes. Cecil offers a variety of associate degree and certificate programs.

Summary of Job Description

The Workforce Development & Business Solutions Department is seeking a skilled Diesel Technology Instructor to deliver hands-on industry-aligned training to eager career-focused students.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Instruction & Curriculum Delivery: Teach diesel repair and maintenance in accordance with industry standards using adult learning methodologies.
  • Student Assessment & Guidance: Instruct evaluate and mentor students; administer tests to measure progress; track attendance and performance; and provide constructive feedback to support skill development.
  • Safety & Equipment Oversight: Direct and supervise students in the safe proper use of tools and equipment in the shop environment.

Qualifications:

As a part-time Diesel Technology instructor you must believe in the power of sharing your knowledge motivating others and putting students first and must be passionate about training tomorrows workforce.

  • Additional requirements include: ASE Certifications in medium and heavy-duty diesel equipment.
  • At least five (5) years of related practical work experience and demonstrated skills in diesel vehicle maintenance repairs and diagnostic tools.
  • Teaching experience preferred.
  • Excellent people skills.
  • Must be a self-starter creative in problem solving exercise good judgments and ethics and have superior customer service skills.

Salary for the position is $45/hr. Approx. Schedule is 2x/week 6 hours/week evenings.
