Instructional Technology Coach (10.5 month position)

The Instructional Technology Coach empowers educators to integrate technology effectively into teaching and learning. ITCs serve as collaborative partners instructional leaders and professional learning facilitators who help teachers design engaging student-centered lessons that leverage digital tools and strategies. They focus on building teacher capacity fostering innovation and supporting continuous improvement in instructional practices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Coaching and Collaboration
Partner with teachers to plan model and co-teach lessons that integrate technology to enhance student learning.
Provide individualized and small group coaching to support instructional goals and technology integration.
Facilitate reflective conversations with educators to improve instructional practices and student outcomes.

2. Professional Learning
Design and deliver professional learning sessions on effective technology integration digital pedagogy and instructional strategies.
Support teachers in developing personalized learning environments and incorporating learner variability.
Engage in ongoing professional learning related to content pedagogy technology and leadership.
Maintain active participation in professional learning networks at local state and national levels.

3. Digital Leadership and Innovation
Promote digital citizenship and model ethical safe and responsible technology use.
Guide educators in selecting and implementing digital tools aligned with curriculum standards and instructional goals.
Stay current with emerging technologies instructional trends and best practices to inform coaching strategies.

4. Data-Informed Support
Collaborate with teachers to analyze student data and identify opportunities for technology-enhanced learning.
Assist in evaluating the impact of technology integration on student engagement and achievement.

5. Technical and Instructional Expertise
Demonstrate proficiency in troubleshooting classroom technologies and supporting teachers with technical challenges.
Understand and apply instructional design principles to create meaningful technology-rich learning experiences.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelors degree in education (masters preferred).
Certification: Valid teaching license.
Experience: Minimum of five years of successful classroom teaching experience.
Skills: Strong instructional design coaching communication and technology integration skills.

TIME ALLOCATION OF RESPONSIBILITIES (Suggested Time Approximations)
50% coaching and collaboration (planning modeling and co-teaching lessons with teachers small group/one-on-one coaching sessions reflective conversations and instructional planning)
20% professional learning (designing delivering and participating in PD)
15% digital leadership and innovation (researching and sharing instructional technology tools and best practices supporting school-wide and division-wide technology initiatives)
10% data-informed support (collaborating with schools during PLCs and grade-level meetings on utilizing technology tools to assist with identified areas of need evaluating the impact of technology integration on learning outcomes)
5% technical support (troubleshooting basic classroom technology issues assisting with setup and basic operations)

REPORTING STRUCTURE
Reports to the Supervisor of Instructional Technology.

ADDITIONAL EXPECTATIONS
Familiarity with Virginia Standards of Learning ISTE Standards for Coaches and Virginia Technology Standards for Instructional Personnel (VSTE).
