  • JOB GOAL:
    To assist the teacher with teaching objectives by working with individual students or small groups to help them achieve classroom and individual goals.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. High School Diploma or equivalent
    2. Excellent attendance record
    3. Must have or be willing to obtain First Aid and CPR certification and keep certifications current.
    4. Must be able to bend and lift 30 lbs. and stand for long periods of time
    5. Must pass a background clearance
    6. Must obtain an Arizona IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card


    TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:188 Days; 9 Months
    COMPENSATION: Per QCUSD salary schedule for applicable position
    BENEFITS:As per QCUSD District policy
    REPORTS TO:Classroom teacher site administrator special education administrator
    HOURS: 35hours per week - Monday-Friday 7:45 a.m.-3:15 p.m.
    CLASSIFICATION:Hourly Non-exempt

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Responsibilities shall include but not be limited to the following:

    1. Works with individual students or groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skillsintroduced by the teacher.
    2. Guides independent study enrichment work and remedial work set up by the classroom teacher.
    3. Checks class work grade papers and supervise testing as assigned by the teacher.
    4. Serves as the chief source of information and help any substitute teacher assigned in the absenceof the regular teacher.
    5. Alerts the classroom teacher to any problems.
    6. Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information as is expectedof teachers.
    7. Participates in in-service training programs as required.
    8. Assists students with lunch snack recess and cleanup routines.
    9. Meets students at the bus each morning and take them to the bus in the afternoon.
    10. Assists students with wash-up and toilet routines including changing diapers.
    11. Operates and care for equipment and assistive technology used in the classroom.
    12. Assists with student supervision in all school settings.
    13. Refers all parent questions/concerns directly and immediately to classroom teacher.
    14. Performs other job-related duties as assigned to advance district priorities.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
