Job Summary
Glenbrook South High Schools Multilingual Learners department is seeking Instructional Assistants - Advanced Support: Language and Family Liaison (Russian) for the 2026 -2027 school year.
The Instructional Assistant - Advanced Support: Multilingual Learners and Family Liaison under general supervision serves as a liaison between District 225 and our students or parents/guardians who require communication support. Language and Family Liaisons may perform a wide range of tasks to support the efforts of ML communication requirements to meet the needs of ML students and parents. Employee provides assistance with translation interpretation and socio-cultural needs across a variety of meetings events and 1:1 connections.
Education and/or Experience and Qualifications
1. Paraprofessional Substitute Teacher or PEL license with Stipulations issued by ISBE is required before starting the position. 2. Experience in an educational setting preferred. 3. Ability to obtain the certificate of Qualified Interpreter Training as soon as available by the Illinois State Board of Education. 4. Bilingual in English and selected language is required with advanced proficiency in reading writing interpreting and translating. 5. Ability to work evening and weekend events is required.

- Professional Educator License (PEL): $0.50 per hour
- Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification: $0.50 per hour
- Longevity: 5-10 Years of completed continuous service as an IA: $0.50 per hour or 11 Years of completed continuous service: $1.00 per hour.
