Installation and Service Technician I, Entry Level Syracuse, NY

Are you ready to launch your career in the low voltage security industry At IK Systems were looking for an Install and Service Technician I to join our growing team. This entry-level role is the perfect way to gain hands-on experience with integrated security systems - including surveillance access control intrusion detection and structured cabling.

Youll work directly alongside experienced technicians and project foremen learning best practices while building the foundation for a long-term career. If youre mechanically inclined detail-oriented and eager to grow this role offers the training mentorship and opportunity to advance to Technician II and beyond.

• Install and service low-voltage cabling data racks cameras access control hardware and alarm devices

• Perform cable terminations labeling testing and troubleshooting under supervision

• Learn how to read and apply manuals schematics and wiring diagrams in real-world settings

• Assist senior technicians on projects at commercial client sites

• Maintain accurate daily work logs and jobsite documentation

• Follow OSHA regulations and company safety protocols to ensure safe efficient installations

• High School Diploma or equivalent (technical or vocational training a plus)

• Valid Drivers License required

• Basic understanding of wiring hand tools and mechanical concepts

• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn through on-the-job training

• OSHA 10 certification a plus (not required)

• Ability to travel regionally depending on assignments
