The Inspector Apprentice is responsible for performing testing inspection troubleshooting and basic maintenance of fire protection systems including extinguishers alarms and sprinklers. The Inspector ensures systems operate properly meet customer expectations and comply with applicable codes and standards.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform testing inspection troubleshooting and basic maintenance of fire suppression systems
Inspect valves gauges piping sprinkler heads alarm connections and related suppression system components.
Perform functional testing to verify proper system operation and compliance with applicable codes standards and customer requirements.
Identify deficiencies recommend corrective actions and communicate findings clearly to customers and supervisors.
Read and interpret blueprints system layouts inspection reports and technical manuals.
Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete inspection work efficiently and safely.
Complete inspection reports deficiency documentation and service records accurately and on time.
Communicate professionally with customers team members and supervisors regarding job progress and system status.
Follow all company safety procedures and customer site requirements.
Travel to job sites as required.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid drivers license with a clean driving record if driving role .
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and system drawings.
Experience with commercial fire suppression systems and inspection compliance requirements preferred.
Other Duties:
Adheres to the Code of Conduct Confidentiality Agreement and Company Safety Policy.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting climbing ladders and working in various environments.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Work performed in commercial industrial and construction environments.
Exposure to varying conditions including heights confined spaces and active job sites.
Use of hand tools and testing equipment.
Ability to stand walk bend and kneel for extended periods.
