Summary
The Inside Account Manager (IAM) is responsible for the full ownership growth and retention of a defined portfolio of accounts.
This role serves as the primary point of accountability for account strategy customer engagement forecasting and revenue growth. The IAM operates in a remote coverage model and is expected to drive year-over-year shipment and booking growth while developing accounts toward higher-value opportunities and eventual transition to Field Sales Engineers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Drive revenue growth across assigned accounts through proactive account management
- Own and manage a portfolio of accounts across Motion AI BDI and Applied Industrial
- Develop account plans and maintain accurate shipment and booking forecasts
- Expand share-of-wallet through application and product penetration
- Convert transactional demand into predictable repeat business
- Maintain regular remote engagement cadence with customers and distributor partners
- Build and document application knowledge to strengthen customer positioning
- Coordinate with distributors and internal teams to execute account strategy
- Maintain CRM accuracy and pipeline visibility
Representative Decisions
- Prioritization of accounts and growth opportunities
- Customer commitments related to pricing service and delivery expectations
- Determination of when to escalate or involve additional resources
- Timing of transitions to Field Sales Engineers

Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
- 3 years of sales or account management experience
- Industrial or technical sales experience preferred
- Experience working with distributors
- CRM proficiency (Salesforce preferred)
- Strong analytical and forecasting capability
Physical Demand and Work Environment
Physical Demands Regular use of computer communication tools and standard office equipment.
Work Environment Remote/office environment with moderate noise levels. Limited travel (10%) may be required.

Expected salary: $75000 - $83000 annually. The salary range provided is intended to display the value of the companys basepaycompensation for this position. Salary is dependent on a multitude of factors including but not limited to the physical worksite location the geographic market of the location candidates skill set level of experienceeducationand internal peer compensationcomparisons among other potential factors.
