Inpatient Pharmacist

Shift: Monday-Friday every 4th weekend rotation from 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM (Various Shifts)

• Demonstrates an ongoing commitment to cost containment waste reduction and productivity improvement within the hospital pharmacy department.
• Accurately and efficiently prepares and dispenses medications including unit-dose IV admixtures and automated dispensing systems in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
• Collaborates effectively with physicians nurses case management and other healthcare professionals to support safe and appropriate medication therapy.
• Maintains professional compassionate and respectful interactions with patients families hospital staff and the community.
• Monitors medication and supply inventory levels ensures proper storage and handling and initiates timely reordering to maintain uninterrupted patient care.
• Performs routine and scheduled quality control activities.
• Ensures compliance with HIPAA and hospital confidentiality policies by securing handling and properly destroying patient-sensitive documents labels and materials not included in the permanent medical record.
• Adheres to hospital policies procedures and safety standards to promote a culture of patient safety and quality improvement.

Education:

• B.S. Degree in Pharmacy
• Doctor of Pharmacy preferred

License(s)/Certification(s):

• Current license to practice Pharmacy in the State of Iowa
• Valid drivers license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons is preferred

Experience:

• Experience with progressive responsibilities and demonstrated leadership abilities in hospital Pharmacy preferred
