Job Summary
Role: Infrastructure Engineer/ System Engineer (Database Focus)
Location: Charlotte NC (Hybrid 3 Days Onsite per Week)
Employment Type: Contract (C2C)
Experience: 7 8 Years
Key Responsibilities
- Administer monitor and maintain enterprise database environments.
- Install configure upgrade and patch database servers.
- Perform database performance tuning optimization and capacity planning.
- Manage backup recovery and disaster recovery processes to ensure business continuity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database server and infrastructure-related issues.
- Monitor database health storage utilization and system performance.
- Collaborate with application infrastructure and DevOps teams to support production environments.
- Implement database security user access controls and compliance standards.
- Support high availability replication clustering and failover solutions.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation operational procedures and system configurations.
- Participate in production support and on-call rotations as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7 8 years of experience in Infrastructure Engineering or Database Administration.
- Hands-on experience with one or more database platforms:
- Oracle
- Microsoft SQL Server
- PostgreSQL
- MySQL
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux server administration.
- Experience with database backup recovery and disaster recovery planning.
- Proficiency in database performance tuning and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of storage systems networking fundamentals and virtualization technologies.
- Strong analytical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS Azure or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell Bash or Python.
- Experience with infrastructure monitoring and logging tools.
- Familiarity with automation DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Database or cloud certifications are a plus.
