Job Summary
- Youll manage staff pursue new work opportunities and contribute to business development.
- Youll write proposals conduct interviews and prepare cost proposals.
- Youll provide inspection and quality assurance on highway and roadway construction projects for upcoming efforts.
- Youll determine if completed work follows the plans and specifications.
- Youll coordinate work with the contractor and various public utilities agencies.
- Youll maintain the records and reports related to the project.
- Youll coordinate directly with the general contractor and negotiate change orders.
- Youll assist in inspections to assure compliance with contract plans specifications and special provisions on all phases of structural construction such as bridges foundations walls falsework shoring and drainage structures.
- Youll make or support grade alignment quantity falsework and shoring calculations.
- Youll assist in the preparation of contract change orders contract estimates progress pay estimates and other documents or reports required for the project. Coordinate the sampling and testing of construction materials to monitor compliance with contract specifications.
- Youll monitor and track contractor progress prepare daily weekly and monthly reports as required.
- Youll coordinate with the project team as well as the Construction Staking and Material Testing CMCs.
- Onsite at client site: The work location for this role is onsite with our clients and partners to enable delivery and cultivate our client relationships.

- Must be a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of California
- Minimum 1 construction highway project for or on Caltrans
- Minimum 8 years experience conducting roadway and highway construction inspection in major public works projects
- Minimum 3 years experience with stress analysis structural mechanics and strength of materials
- Minimum 3 years experience with physical characteristics and properties of various roadway and bridge construction materials including concrete and steel
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to perform duties in the construction field office and effectively make decisions concerning construction work in progress and solving field problems
- Ability to direct the efforts of subordinate inspectors
- Expertise in toll road projects including tolling systems (e.g. overhead gantries cameras in-pavement vehicle detection loops etc.)
