Job Summary
- Youll conduct comprehensive daily inspections of electrical and IT systems across building and terminal construction projects ensuring compliance with applicable codes and project specifications review and interpret construction documents including blueprints and shop drawings submittals RFIs and change orders.
- Youll demonstrate strong proficiency in preparing comprehensive daily inspection reports that clearly document the WHO WHAT WHEN WHERE and HOW of all observed construction activities ensuring accuracy clarity and accountability in tracking progress and identifying issues deficiencies or safety concerns in a timely manner.
- Youll verify contractor compliance with local and national electrical codes (e.g. NEC NFPA 70 70E 72) and LAWA-specific standards.
- Youll track and document time-and-material work field changes and job quantities.
- Youll assist in validating contractor progress payment requests based on an approved schedule of values.
- Youll support special inspections and testing activities coordinating with engineers contractors and third-party agencies as needed.
- Youll perform inspections of electrical installations including but not limited to:
- Underground utilities and duct banks
- High-voltage switchgear and electrical panels
- Conduit racks conductors and grounding systems
- Interior and exterior lighting systems
- Fire life safety systems including smoke/heat detectors and FM-200 suppression systems
- Electrical shutdowns lockout/tagout procedures and breaker coordination
- Youll inspect IT infrastructure installations such as:
- Low-voltage systems (voice/data security access control)
- Door card readers security cameras and public address (P.A.) systems
- Communication cabling and equipment rooms
- Onsite at client site: The work location for this role is onsite with our clients and partners to enable delivery and cultivate our client relationships. May be required to work various shifts including day swing and night.
- High school diploma (or equivalent)
- Electrical/IT inspection staff shall have at 3 years or more of experience performing electrical/IT inspections; For task on the Airfield 3 years or more of experience with airfield lighting is required.
- Current ICC Certification as a Commercial Electrical Inspector;
- Proof of NFPE-70E standards Completion of training must have been achieved within the last 3 years
- 30-hour Cal-OSHA training prior to assignment.
- Experience at the journey-level as an electrician with a focus on the installation and repair of electrical systems in public works institutional commercial or industrial settings
- Experience overseeing and ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations on significant construction projects
- Involvement in complex projects that require coordination with multiple stakeholders including contractors engineers and city officials
- Expertise in identifying and addressing deficiencies ensuring that all aspects of construction meet the required standards
- Must be open to learning the prescriptive items required by the agency
