THE WORK:
  • Youll serve as Deputy Construction Manager supporting the CM in overseeing day-to-day construction activities across complex transportation and capital infrastructure projects in the Mid-Atlantic region.
  • Youll assist in managing and coordinating design reviews plan approvals and constructability reviews identifying potential problems in advance and taking corrective action or escalating to the Construction Manager and client leadership.
  • Youll support preparation of authorization documentation and project correspondence required by transit authority clients including letters memoranda and board-level reporting materials.
  • Youll prepare and maintain project budgets schedules and progress reports ensuring alignment with contract requirements and client expectations.
  • Youll review the work of subconsultants and contractors and make recommendations on invoice approvals and payments.
  • Youll assist in administering construction contracts in compliance with applicable transit agency standards regulations and federal funding requirements (FTA FHWA).
  • Youll track and manage cost and schedule performance flagging variances and recommending corrective actions to the CM.
  • Youll prepare and issue monthly project construction status reports for client and Accenture leadership.
  • Youll review and make recommendations on contractor submittals and Requests for Information (RFIs) coordinating with design teams and agency staff as needed.
  • Youll monitor and coordinate project construction activities in the field including site visits and field inspections across the project corridor.
  • Youll coordinate project close-out activities including punch lists as-built documentation and lessons learned.
  • Youll evaluate and make recommendations on scope changes and assist in preparing change orders for CM and client approval.
  • Youll conduct and coordinate briefings presentations and stakeholder meetings for transit agency clients elected officials and community representatives.
  • Youll interface with state and regional agenciesincluding VDOT MDOT DDOT and local jurisdictionsto obtain project approvals and permits.
  • Youll monitor coordinate and evaluate all key project activities to ensure optimum scope/configuration control cost/schedule compliance and quality assurance/control of project design specifications contracting strategies and contractor performance to support claims avoidance and mitigation.
  • Youll support the training and mentorship of junior project staff and owners representative team members on project delivery best practices.
  • Onsite at client site: The work location for this role is onsite with our clients and partners to enable delivery and cultivate our client relationships.

HERES WHAT YOULL NEED:
  • Bachelors degree from a recognized college or university in Architecture Engineering Construction Management or a related field OR an additional four (4) years of construction-related experience in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of 7 (seven) years of verified experience in program planning design management and construction oversight of transportation or transit infrastructure projects.
  • Minimum of 5 (five) years of verified experience in a Deputy CM CM or Senior Owners Representative role with direct responsibility for coordinating complex infrastructure projects through all phasesincluding design bidding construction and close-outwithin schedule resource and budget constraints.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting or leading construction management on transit rail bus rapid transit (BRT) highway or related transportation capital programs in the Mid-Atlantic region (Virginia Maryland Washington DC or adjacent states).
  • Familiarity with the procurement and project delivery requirements of one or more regional transit agencies (e.g. WMATA VRE MARC NJ Transit MTA PATH/PANYNJ) or transportation agencies (VDOT MDOT DDOT PANYNJ).
BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE:
  • PE (Professional Engineer) PMP (Project Management Professional) CCM (Certified Construction Manager) or equivalent professional certification.
  • Familiarity with VDOT Road and Bridge Specifications WMATA Design Criteria Standards or FTA/FHWA construction oversight requirements.
  • Experience with federally funded transit capital programs and associated compliance and reporting obligations.
  • Working knowledge of project controls software (Primavera P6 e-Builder Procore or similar).
  • Ability to remain flexible and effective in a fast-paced client-facing environment.
  • Ability to make sound and timely decisions under pressure and in response to unexpected field conditions or schedule impacts.
  • Ability to effectively multitask while analyzing problems and coordinating across diverse project teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including experience preparing executive-level briefings and client-facing reports.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint Project) or related tools.
$160000 - $220000 a year
Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors which may include but are not limited to the specific office location role skill set and level of experience. As required by local law Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in Illinois Maine Minnesota California Colorado District of Columbia Maryland Massachusetts New York New Jersey Ohio Virginia or Washington as set forth below.
