This position exists to design build and support enterprise data integrations and analytics-ready data products that power operational reporting and decision-making across Minnesota State Colleges and Universities. The Data Engineer and Analyst ensures that data needed for analytical and operational use cases is extracted transformedvalidated and delivered securely reliably and cost-effectively using repeatable engineering practices.
Salary Range:
$40.43 - $69.11/hourly ($84418 - $144302/annually)
Minimum Qualifications
Six (6) years of progressive enterprise experience in dataengineering/softwaredevelopment using multiple technologies including cloud data platforms and programming languages (e.g. Python R Scala) and strong SQLexperience.A bachelors degree may substitute for one (1) year of experience.Strong programming and SQL skillsensureefficientdata transformationfor enterprise use.
Three years ofdemonstratedexperience building and supporting enterprise data pipelines and data productsina modern cloud analytics platform(e.g. Microsoft Fabric and/or Azure Synapse) including orchestration and transformation services (e.g. Azure Data Factory and Dataflow Gen2).Experience with modern cloud platforms ensures scalable maintainable and cost-effective solutions aligned with enterprise architecture.
Demonstrated experience with enterprise data extraction and replication/CDC approaches(e.g.CDataSync and OracleGoldenGateor equivalent technologies) and selectingappropriate patternsfor batch incremental and nearreal-time delivery.
Proven experience developing and consuming integrations through APIsandleveragingAPI-based data access patterns.This skillensuresthe candidate can integrate across systems.
Three years ofdemonstratedexperiencedesigning developing and implementingcreating and supporting BI/analytics artifacts and applying analysistovalidatedata and answer business questions.The ability to translate data into meaningful insights is essential to building trust in enterprise data products.
Proficiencyin software testing tools and techniques for data and BI solutionsincludingestablishingrobust test strategies for data pipelines transformations and published data/BI artifacts.
Preferred Qualification
Broad knowledge of Azure products and the Microsoft ecosystem.
Higher education experience in a large multi-campus distributed higher education system.
Understanding ofmachine learning pipelines and AI-driven data processing.
Workday reporting experience.
