Our Information Technology and Systems team plays a vital role in supporting patient care and hospital operations by ensuring technology systems infrastructure and digital services run efficiently and this fast-paced environment team members collaborate across departments to support daily operations lead technology initiatives and drive continuous improvement. Success in this role requires strong leadership problem-solving communication and a commitment to delivering reliable innovative technology solutions that positively impact both staff and patient experiences.
Essential Functions:
Enterprise Alignment & Strategic Leadership
Serve as the primary liaison between hospital leadership and enterprise IT ensuring local needs are represented in system-wide planning and that enterprise strategies are effectively implemented at the facility level.
Participate in enterprise governance councils and contribute to the development and enforcement of data governance cybersecurity and technology standards.
Lead the hospitals IT strategic planning process aligning technology initiatives with both hospital and enterprise goals.
Operational Excellence & Service Delivery
Oversee day-to-day IT operations including infrastructure applications cybersecurity and support services ensuring high availability and performance of clinical and business systems.
Implement and monitor IT service management processes incident response and change management in accordance with enterprise policies.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements (e.g. HIPAA HITECH) and participate in audits inspections and accreditation processes.
Project & Change Management
Lead or support enterprise IT initiatives at the hospital including but not limited to EHR upgrades cybersecurity initiatives digital transformation efforts and initiatives to reduce technical debt within the hospitals data center; perform other duties as assigned.
Champion change management staff training and adoption of new technologies leveraging enterprise resources and best practices.
Collaboration & Relationship Building
Foster strong relationships with hospital leadership clinical teams and enterprise IT peers to ensure technology solutions meet operational and clinical needs.
Engage with external vendors and partners as needed following enterprise procurement and vendor management guidelines.
Financial Stewardship
Collaborate with hospital financial leaders to support cost containment strategies and ensure technology initiatives align with organizational priorities.
Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies cost savings and revenue generation through technology.
Talent Management & Team Development
Lead mentor and develop the hospital IT team promoting a culture of accountability continuous learning and professional growth.
Support enterprise talent initiatives including workforce planning succession management and staff engagement.
Performance Improvement & Innovation
Drive continuous improvement in IT service delivery leveraging data analytics benchmarking and enterprise performance metrics.
Promote a culture of innovation encouraging the adoption of emerging technologies that advance patient care operational efficiency and data security.
Schedule: Full-Time: Days; 100% On-Site in Wilson NC.

What were looking for
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems Business Administration or a related field required; equivalent combination of education and 7 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirements.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive IT leadership experience including at least 3 years within healthcare environments supporting hospital operations multi-site organizations or enterprise-level systems.
- Proven expertise managing hospital IT operations including infrastructure clinical applications EHR platforms cybersecurity service delivery and technology support functions.
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulatory requirements and industry standards including HIPAA HITECH cybersecurity frameworks and IT governance best practices.
- Demonstrated success leading complex technology initiatives operational improvements digital transformation efforts and cross-functional projects in fast-paced healthcare environments.
- Exceptional leadership communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build strong partnerships across executive leadership clinical teams operational departments and enterprise IT organizations.
- Experience managing IT budgets vendor relationships contract negotiations and resource planning while driving operational efficiency and financial stewardship.
- Commitment to continuous improvement innovation staff development and the adoption of emerging technologies that enhance patient care operational performance and organizational outcomes.
