Western Infectious Disease Consultants PC (WIDC) is seeking a motivated and entrepreneurial Infectious Disease Physician to join our established physician-owned practice serving the Denver metropolitan area since 1982.
This full-time opportunity is designed for a physician seeking meaningful patient volume professional autonomy leadership within an independent specialty practice and a defined clinical role focused on WIDCs Lakewood office area and affiliated hospitals.
Position Overview
The full-time physician will provide comprehensive infectious disease care across WIDCs inpatient and outpatient service lines with primary responsibilities centered around the Lakewood office area and affiliated hospitals.
The role includes collaboration with WIDC physicians nursing pharmacy clinical operations and administrative leadership to ensure safe timely high-quality patient care strong outpatient continuity and reliable hospital-based infectious disease support in the Lakewood region.

  • Exposure to antimicrobial stewardship infection prevention infection control and outbreak management programs throughout the Denver metro area.
Physician Duties - Lakewood Office Area and Affiliated Hospitals
  • Provide physician support clinical decision-making and continuity for infectious disease patients in the Lakewood office area and affiliated hospitals.
  • Evaluate treat and follow patients across outpatient and inpatient settings whose care requires infectious disease consultation and longitudinal management.
  • Collaborate with WIDC physicians nursing pharmacy clinical operations and administrative leadership to support appropriate therapy plans monitoring expectations and timely clinical follow-up.
  • Remain available for physician-level questions related to infectious disease patients including care coordination and timely clinical escalation when needed.
  • Support consistent clinical workflows documentation standards patient safety expectations and communication practices across the Lakewood office area and affiliated hospitals.
  • Participate in clinical quality improvement efforts related to patient outcomes access continuity of care antimicrobial stewardship and infection prevention priorities.
Candidate Qualifications
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Infectious Disease.
  • Eligible to begin employment in July 2027.
  • Strong clinical skills and commitment to patient-centered care.
  • Interest in practicing within an independent physician-led organization.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians nurses pharmacy staff clinical operations and administrative leadership.
  • Comfort supporting care across outpatient clinic responsibilities affiliated hospital needs and regional service priorities.
