Job Summary

Shodair Childrens Hospital is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Infection Prevention & Workforce Safety Coordinator (RN) to lead and support infection prevention employee health and workforce safety initiatives across our organization.


This position plays a critical role in protecting the health and safety of patients staff and visitors by coordinating Shodairs Infection Prevention and Control Program Employee Health Program and workforce safety efforts. The Coordinator partners closely with Quality Risk Human Resources leadership and clinical teams to ensure regulatory compliance support employee health services and drive safety-focused performance improvement initiatives.


This role reports to the Manager of Quality & Risk and works in close partnership with the Human Resources department.


Key Responsibilities
Infection Prevention & Control
  • Manage Shodairs Infection Prevention and Control Program
  • Set annual goals action plans and surveillance activities
  • Monitor HAIs communicable diseases and outbreak risks
  • Conduct rounds audits investigations and required reporting
  • Oversee antibiotic stewardship and regulatory compliance
  • Provide education and consultation to staff and leadership
Employee Health & Workforce Safety
  • Coordinate employee health and occupational health services
  • Manage exposure assessments follow-up immunizations and screenings
  • Track workplace injury and illness trends and prevention efforts
  • Support return-to-work and workers compensation processes with HR
  • Apply work restrictions and maintain employee health confidentiality
Quality Safety & Regulatory Support
  • Support quality improvement and safety initiatives
  • Assist with data collection analysis and reporting
  • Help maintain readiness for Joint Commission CMS OSHA and public health requirements
  • Participate in relevant committees and corrective action planning
  • Support emergency preparedness for infectious disease response

Requirements

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required
  • Minimum of three (3) years of infection control or healthcare nursing experience
Certifications & Licensure
  • Active Montana RN license in good standing
  • Certification in Infection Control (CIC) required within three (3) years of hire and/or
  • Certified Professional in Patient Safety certification required within three (3) years of hire
  • CPI and Ukeru audit completion required within 3 months of hire (ongoing certification may be required)

Preferred Skills

  • Strong knowledge of infection prevention principles and best practices
  • Knowledge of CDC OSHA CMS and accreditation requirements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interpret trends and make data-driven recommendations
Salary Description
Starting at $79900 annually
