Industrial Wastewater Operator

In this role youll work alongside experienced operators and maintenance professionals gaining hands-on experience in the operation and maintenance of industrial wastewater treatment facilities. This position is scheduled for 40 hours per week working five 8-hour shifts Sunday through Thursday from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Because our facilities operate around the clock flexibility to assist with weekend coverage emergency response and occasional off-hour needs is essential.

Were looking for candidates who bring a combination of technical skills mechanical aptitude and a positive team-oriented mindset.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• High school diploma or trade school certification required.
• 2 to 4 years of experience operating or maintaining water and/or wastewater treatment facilities preferred. An equivalent combination of education training and experience will also be considered.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and work environments.
• Hands-on troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify diagnose and resolve equipment and system issues.
• New Jersey Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator License (N) preferred or the ability to obtain one through examination or reciprocity.
• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification with current 8-hour refresher if applicable.

Skills & Abilities

• Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
• Working knowledge of wastewater treatment operations maintenance practices equipment and tools.
• Commitment to safe work practices and an understanding of hazards associated with industrial wastewater treatment operations.
• Ability to respond to emergency call-outs when needed.
• Basic computer proficiency and comfort using workplace applications.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings specifications procedures and work instructions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Positive attitude strong work ethic and a team-first approach.

Additional Information

As part of our hiring process finalists will be required to successfully complete a background check pre-employment physical and drug screening.

Compensation: $26.00 - $30.00/hr. based on level of experience and licensure.
