Job Summary
DIS-TRAN Steel is seeking an Industrial Operations Specialist to help drive operational excellence across our manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for someone with a background in Industrial Engineering Mechanical Engineering Engineering Technology Manufacturing or Operations who enjoys solving problems improving processes leading projects and working directly with production teams.
Rather than sitting behind a desk designing products youll be on the plant floor identifying opportunities improving workflows supporting operations and helping our teams deliver results safely efficiently and with exceptional quality.

As an Industrial Operations Specialist youll serve as a key contributor to operational performance by partnering with production quality maintenance and leadership teams to improve how work gets done.
Responsibilities include:
- Analyze manufacturing processes and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety quality productivity and cost reduction.
- Develop and maintain process documentation standard work and operating procedures.
- Coordinate and support operational projects from planning through implementation.
- Assist with production planning workflow optimization and resource utilization.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for operational challenges.
- Monitor performance metrics and provide recommendations based on data analysis.
- Evaluate equipment tools and processes to improve operational effectiveness.
- Support Lean Manufacturing and Operational Excellence initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution of business objectives.

- Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering Mechanical Engineering Industrial Engineering Technology Manufacturing Technology Operations Management or a related field.
- 0-5 years of experience in manufacturing industrial operations process improvement production project management or continuous improvement.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret data and translate findings into actionable improvements.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing Continuous Improvement Six Sigma or Operational Excellence principles is preferred.
- Strong communication and project coordination skills.
- Ability to build relationships and work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other business software applications.
