Position Summary
The Industrial Engineer II is responsible for leading warehousing and distribution center engineering initiatives focused on labor productivity process improvement operational performance and cost optimization. This role supports both existing operations and new business implementations by analyzing operational data developing engineered solutions implementing continuous improvement initiatives and driving sustainable performance improvements. The Industrial Engineer II serves as a key partner to operations leadership by identifying productivity opportunities supporting Labor Management System (LMS) programs developing labor standards and utilizing data-driven methodologies to improve service efficiency and financial results
Major Responsibilities
- Lead warehouse engineering projects focused on productivity improvement labor optimization process standardization and operational performance enhancement.
- Support the administration maintenance and continuous improvement of Labor Management Systems (LMS) including labor standard development system configuration support testing validation and reporting.
- Conduct labor performance analysis using operational productivity and financial data to identify opportunities for improvement and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop validate and maintain engineered labor standards through work measurement techniques time studies process observation and statistical analysis.
- Partner with operations leadership to implement continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Six Sigma and industrial engineering methodologies.
- Analyze warehouse processes workflows and facility operations to improve throughput capacity utilization labor efficiency safety and service performance.
- Create productivity scorecards labor planning models performance dashboards and operational reporting tools to support management decision-making.
- Support site startups customer implementations process redesigns and operational improvement projects.
- Develop and deliver training materials process documentation user guides and presentations for operations leadership and warehouse associates.
- Present findings recommendations business cases and project results to operational leadership customers and senior management.
- Support proposal development customer solutions and network optimization initiatives through engineering analysis and modeling.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting customer and business deadlines.
Qualifications
Required Education
- Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering Supply Chain Logistics Engineering Management Science Computer Science or a related quantitative discipline.
Required Experience
- 25 years of experience in industrial engineering warehouse engineering labor management supply chain optimization or continuous improvement roles.
- Demonstrated experience supporting warehouse operations through data analysis and engineering solutions.
- Minimum 2 years of experience supporting a Labor Management System (LMS) including labor standards productivity reporting labor analysis or operational performance improvement activities.
Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel Access PowerPoint and data analysis tools.
- Experience performing statistical analysis productivity analysis and operational reporting.
- Ability to develop labor standards conduct time studies and analyze warehouse performance metrics.
- Experience creating technical documentation engineering reports and executive presentations.
- Strong analytical problem-solving and project management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience implementing or supporting labor management systems in distribution center operations.
- Experience supporting warehouse startups automation projects or operational transformations.
- Experience with Power BI SQL Python WMS LMS or warehouse analytics platforms.
- Experience facilitating continuous improvement projects with measurable productivity or cost-saving results.
Fundamental understanding of transportation warehousing supply chain and logistics concepts
Effective communication skills both written and verbal and with internal and external customers required.
Must be proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Access Word and PowerPoint)
Intermediate computer skills in supply chain network modeling design tools preferred
Ability to analyze data and conduct extensive research required
Excellent analytical/problem solving capabilities
Developing presentation skills
Must demonstrate aptitude for developing written oral and interpersonal communications skills particularly when problems arise that may affect solution outcome and/or project schedule.

Must be able to work somewhat independently and concurrently on a range of unstructured tasks/projects and properly prioritize work all with some supervision or direction
Time management and multi-tasking skills
