The Industrial Controls Panel Builder / Electrical Installer is responsible for the assembly wiring installation and start up support of industrial control systems including PLC panels motor control centers (MCCs) LV and MV Switchgear and instrumentation systems. This role is mainly shop fabrication but may be requested to support field installation if needed ensuring that all work is executed safely accurately and in accordance with project specifications drawings and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble industrial control panels PLC panels junction boxes MCC sections and Switchgear per electrical schematics and layout drawings
Perform point-to-point wiring of control devices including relays terminal blocks PLC I/O VFDs breakers and instrumentation
Fabricate and install panel components such as DIN rail wire duct bus bar systems and mounting hardware
Label and tag all devices wires and components in accordance with project standards
Perform quality checks to ensure wiring accuracy torque requirements and overall workmanship
Assist with panel FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) and documentation
Install control panels MCCs and associated equipment at industrial facilities
Run conduit cable tray and supports; pull and route power and control cables
Terminate cables for power control and instrumentation systems (including low voltage and medium voltage where applicable)
Install and connect devices such as transmitters sensors motors and control valves
Perform panel and equipment grounding per applicable standards
Support loop checks point-to-point verification and system checkout
Able to operate forklift.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
25 years of experience in industrial electrical controls and panel building
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
Experience with tools and equipment used for panel building and electrical installation
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
Ability to work in a shop and industrial field environment (indoor and outdoor conditions)
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform tasks requiring bending climbing and standing for extended periods
Ability to travel to job sites if requested.
