Job Summary

Dematic is seeking a Quality Technician to join our manufacturing operations team in Grand Rapids this role you will help ensure products meet quality and performance standards throughout the manufacturing process. Working closely with Operations Engineering Supply Chain and Quality teams you will perform inspections support quality initiatives maintain measurement equipment and help drive continuous improvement efforts.

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $21 - $25 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location education experience knowledge and skills.

Tasks and Qualifications:

What You Will Do in This Role:


  • Inspect incoming materials in-process components and finished products to verify conformance to engineering drawings specifications and quality requirements.
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections using measurement equipment such as calipers micrometers height gauges and other precision tools.
  • Document inspection results and quality dispositions within SAP and other quality systems.
  • Conduct First Piece Inspections (FPI) Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) inspections and other product verification activities when needed.
  • Monitor and manage quality hold areas including product containment inventory control and electronic quality holds.
  • Support supplier quality activities including coordinating product returns corrective actions and material disposition with external vendors.
  • Maintain calibration records and coordinate calibration activities for measurement equipment to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Collect analyze and report quality-related data to support decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with Operations Engineering Purchasing and other cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and minimize production disruptions.
  • Participate in internal audits and support compliance with ISO 9001 quality management standards.
  • Assist with special projects investigations root cause analysis and process improvement activities.
  • Support pre-shipment quality verification activities and customer-specific quality requirements when needed.

What We Are Looking For:

  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in a Quality Manufacturing Inspection or related technical role.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Experience using precision measurement tools and inspection equipment.
  • Solid understanding of quality principles inspection methods and documentation practices.
  • Experience using ERP systems such as SAP or similar business systems.
  • Familiarity with AIAG quality tools and manufacturing quality processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Word.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document findings and results.
  • Ability to prioritize and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical electrical or electromechanical components used in manufacturing environments.
