The In-Plant Railcar Technician is responsible for inspecting maintaining troubleshooting and repairing freight railcars at customer facilities in accordance with AAR FRA customer and company standards while maintaining a safe professional and quality-focused work environment.

• Inspect freight railcars in accordance with AAR FRA customer and company requirements.
• Diagnose defects and perform repairs to brake systems couplers draft gear running gear safety appliances and structural components within certification level.
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and scheduled repair activities.
• Safely operate hand pneumatic hydraulic and power tools.
• Follow all safety policies and customer-specific requirements.
• Complete inspection reports work orders labor reporting and repair documentation accurately and on time.
• Maintain company tools equipment inventory and housekeeping.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid drivers license with acceptable driving record.
• Pass pre-employment drug screening and participate in company drug and alcohol testing.
• Pass required background screenings.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to safely use tools.

• Lift up to 75 pounds.
• Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather.
• Stand bend kneel crawl and climb throughout the workday.
• DOT-regulated vehicle operation may be required.
• Maintain a valid drivers license and remain insurable.
