Job Summary/ Key Responsibilities:

The Import Documentation Clerk is responsible for the inward cargo manifest in MSC USAs system as well as ensuring all system information is updated to reflect accurate data for all USA departments.

  • Manifest shipments in MSC USA systems based on instructions received from various parties.
  • Transmit EDI files to necessary entities and partners as specified by USCBP rules/regulations and internal procedures.
  • Perform manifest amendments and ensure all necessary parties are aware of the amended data.
  • Handle communications received by the department for resolution.
  • Presence required onsite 5 days per week
  • Perform other duties as required

This role requires working on-site in the office for five days a week from Monday to Friday. There is no option for fully remote or hybrid work in this role unless required off-site duties are being performed.

Qualifications & Key Competencies:

  • Bachelors degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • English: advanced
  • Strong attention to details
  • Organized efficient and able to manage time effectively
  • Strong customer service mindset focused and responsive
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Great team player
  • Knowledge of MS Office with the ability to learn new software

PREFERRED SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Prior experience in Import/export documentation transportation or logistics customer service experience preferably ocean import documentation experience preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time
  • Must be able to commute to the designated office location
  • Presence required onsite 5 days per week
